RULES - This RP is not going to be completely canon, or completely traditional, so listen up.
.) No Character is invincible. - You may think of your character as "your boy" or "your baby", but every avian creature has to learn how to fly at some point, and there will be times that will be tough for your character. Many instances where he or she is put to the test will be intentional, and you may want to get angry or upset. Don't. If there is an issue with the way your character is being treated, and you think it's too harsh, or not enough, PM us, and we will address the issue.
.) We are only human. Well, most of us. there are chances that time, life, school, or some other event will get in the way of staying up to date. we understand that. let us know how that is working out, and we will accommodate what we can. As a side note, mistakes can be made. inform us and we'll see what we can do. as it is here, there are many uncapitalized words in this post that would need fixing, and there's probably a misspelling or too as well. NO GRAMMAR NAZIS. if there is something wrong with a post, either fix it yourself, or calmly and respectfully inform the mistaken party of their error.
.) Try not to "bunny". some players have a hard time understanding what counts as pushing the boundaries. Bunnying is an example of this, where one RP participant attempts to perform actions on others without the user's consent. But we recognize that sometimes getting consent prevents the story from moving forward. On the other side of the coin, if you are not happy with something someone has done with your characters, don't get mad about it. In either case, PM us, and we will look at the post, but in the end, WE will decide what actions stay and which ones must be changed. This way, everything can operate a lot quicker and we can iron out any conflicts.
.) In the case of OC's, and OP Characters, it is all too tempting to go all out and come up with a sudden trick to avoid situation or loophole the plot. As with Rule 1, there is a necessity to be put to the test, and your characters may have some abilities locked out at points to where you cannot use them for a given amount of time. Obstacles will be put in place that would be made much easier with the abilities that are locked out at the time, forcing characters to cope. This ensures a much better character-building and characterization arc for each and every player.
.) If you find yourself unable to keep your characters moving, don't have much time to post, or simply don't wish to continue, let us know. we will be disappointed and sad to see you go, but this opens the ability for someone else to fill the mantle, and you are given the time needed to train them up for battle. and other stuff. And try to stay in touch too. we love to speak to anyone who has a level of interest in EO, and you may have very valuable opinions and valued ideas that can spur change, new parts to the story, etc.
.) There is no special treatment here. If something happened that you feel strongly about, perhaps you or your character deserved it, or perhaps it was necessary to the plot. each of you will be given a sub thread to keep track of your level, items, abilities, allies, location, etc. it is your responsibility to change something when it needs changing, but only when it changes in the plot. i.e. no giving yourself extra materials levels, or abilities. we have a record of changes, so we will keep an eye on your actions.
.) As said above, there are a number of things to keep track of. in every admin post, the bottom will list potential items to be picked up, used, or given away, potential recipients, items you *did* receive, Hazards of the location, status changes, and basic things every player needs. here is where you'll be able to determine what to change in your profile status page.
.) There is a combat thread where you and other players can do battle, and once both consent to the combat, you may begin. beware, each others' stats will greatly impact the battle, so view their page before asking for combat. an item must be wagered by each party for the battle, and there is no special treatment. we are as objective as possible toward the battle.
.) If you violate any of these rules, your punishment will vary depending on the crime. Possible punishments include suspension of posting privileges, removal of account, basic warnings, alterations in stats or other character-specific specs, removal from the RP but not forum, and any other thing we may think of that counts as appropriate. you may appeal this, but once it has been appealed, the members of the forum will vote, so your fate is not only based on our thoughts. Any rule-breaking may be reported to us for appraisal, and we will make it known what you did, and whether or not you were punished to the rest of the members.
.) If you are posting something you know is wrong, scandalous, not PG, or nice, chances are you shouldn't post it. Keep things clean even for childrens' eyes, and don't make it too graphic. We will respond to unacceptable posts in part.
.) if you don't understand something, you are either not supposed to, it is some sort of newfangled physics concept, or someone messed up with their wording, grammar, or execution of ideas. let them know, and us if necessary. We will attempt to explain it.
.) the rules here are subject to change, so if you dislike one, or think another should be added, let us know. as with anything else, we will try to make this as user-friendly an experience as possible within the realm of EO. send a PM asking about a change or opinion. We will respond.
.) HAVE FUN. If you are not having fun, do something to change that. make yourself comfortable, and let us know what you need. a virtual armchair to get comfortable? no problem. a graphic representing room layouts, planet layouts, etc.?, we got it. a request for something cross-promo, commission, or idea-sharing? let's hear it!
